As a life coach and energy worker, I’ve seen this truth play out again and again. The stories we repeat to ourselves, the energy we carry, and the thoughts we feed… all of it shapes our reality. If the mind is the magnet, then our thoughts are the frequency. And when we tune that frequency to peace, growth, and self-worth, magic happens!
Why a Healthy Mindset Should Be a Top Priority
We spend time brushing our teeth, eating our greens, booking spa days (hello, Sweet Treats!), but how often do we check in with our mind? A healthy mindset is the foundation of emotional well-being, confidence, and even physical health. It affects how we respond to challenges, show up in relationships, and take risks on our dreams.
Here’s the thing though, mindset isn’t a one-time choice. It’s a daily practice. One that can either reinforce negativity… or open the door to healing, success, and manifestation.
Signs of a Toxic Mindset
Let’s keep it real, sometimes we don’t even know we’re living with a toxic mindset. Here are some sneaky signs:

Constant self-doubt or comparing yourself to others

Feeling stuck in a loop of “nothing ever changes”

Negative self-talk that sounds like: “I’m not good enough,” or “Why bother?”

Believing you have no control over your life or emotions
-
Avoiding growth opportunities out of fear
If any of these sound familiar, then BREATHE, because awareness is the first step to a positive mindset shift.
Tips to Shift into a Healthy Mindset (Even When Life is Messy)
Become the Observer of Your Thoughts - You are not your thoughts. Watch them without judgment. Journal them. Ask: Is this belief even mine? Is it even true?
Energy Check-In: Morning and Night - As a Reiki practitioner, I often guide clients in simple yet powerful practices that connect them to their own healing energy. One beautiful way to reset your mindset is by placing your hands over two important energy centers, which are the Heart Chakra and the Solar Plexus Chakra.
The Heart Chakra (Anahata) - Is located in the center of your chest, right at your heart space. This chakra is your center of love, compassion, and emotional healing. When open and balanced, it allows you to give and receive love freely, including love for yourself. The Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) - Is located just above your navel, in the upper stomach area. This chakra is your seat of personal power, self-worth, and confidence. When activated, it fuels your motivation, clarity, and sense of identity.
How to Do the Practice
Each morning and evening:

Sit quietly and place one hand over your heart and the other over your solar plexus.

Close your eyes and take a deep, calming breath.
-
Visualize a warm golden-yellow light glowing from your solar plexus, and a soft green or pink light radiating from your heart.
-
Imagine these two lights slowly swirling clockwise, creating a gentle spiral of energy between them.
-
With each breath, feel the connection between love (heart) and power (solar plexus) becoming stronger, clearer, and calmer.
Say aloud or silently:
“Today, I choose clarity. I choose peace.” You can add: “I am grounded in love and fueled by my inner strength.”
As you end your day, return to this practice. Let the spiral of light slowly soften and release any tension, thoughts, or emotions that no longer serve you.
Affirmations That Feel Good - Let's skip the forced positivity shall we and instead, try:
“I’m open to seeing this differently.”, “I’m learning to trust myself.”, “I release what no longer serves me.” The more these become your inner voice, the more the outer world will reflect that shift.
Reframe Challenges as Lessons - Life isn’t happening to you, it’s happening through you and for your own growth. A setback is often your soul’s nudge to go deeper. Create a Mindset Menu, just like you plan your meals, plan your mind fuel. Your mindset menu could look like:
