Becoming the Coach I Needed

Published on 20 May 2025 at 16:47

Sixteen years ago, if you’d asked me what a life coach was, I wouldn’t have had an answer. I didn’t grow up knowing this profession existed. Coaching found me at a time when I was struggling to find my own direction.

I had lost clarity, purpose, and honestly, I was feeling stuck. I wasn’t sure what I needed but I knew I couldn’t stay where I was.

Out of that moment came a simple, powerful decision: to help others feel seen, confident, and capable, especially the younger generation. I began by creating self-esteem workshops for girls aged 6 to 12, focusing on confidence, emotional expression, and personal power. That work lit something up in me. It reminded me that healing and empowerment don’t start with big, flashy changes, they begin with someone telling you, “You matter. Your story matters. You can choose who you want to be.”

From there, the path unfolded naturally. Adults started reaching out. Friends of workshop parents, educators, women navigating transitions, they all wanted support, guidance, and a space to be real. So I leaned in. I got certified in 2011 through the Certified Coaches Federation and have continued evolving ever since.

Coaching Chose Me, But I Also Chose It—Again and Again

I’ve been a coach now for almost two decades. I’ve worked with people across ages, identities, and experiences. I’ve held space in rooms filled with laughter, grief, doubt, and breakthroughs. And while the “industry” of coaching has grown rapidly (sometimes in ways that make me pause), I return to this truth:

Coaching, when done with integrity, care, and experience, changes lives.

It changed mine.

It helped me find myself. And now I help others do the same.

My Approach: Grounded, Real, Embodied

Coaching isn’t about fixing people. It’s not about giving advice or offering “5-step formulas.” Life isn’t that linear and neither is growth. My work is grounded in curiosity, deep listening, and holding space with intention.

I believe in:

  • Self-leadership: You already have the answers. My role is to help you access them.

  • Embodied wisdom: Your body holds insight your brain can’t always reach. We include the body in the process.

  • Real transformation: That means slowing down, being honest, and showing up especially when things feel messy.

I’m not here to push you toward productivity or perfection. I’m here to help you come home to yourself.

What I Offer Now

While I still offer occasional workshops (because I love community spaces), I’m now focused on:

  • One-on-one coaching for women navigating identity shifts, purpose realignment, and big life transitions.

  • Online, self-guided programs for those who want deep transformation in their own time.

  • E-books and tools that support self-discovery, reflection, and growth.

Whether we work together in a session or through a digital resource, the intention is the same: to help you connect to your truth, reclaim your power, and move forward with clarity and confidence.

Why I Still Believe in Coaching

After all these years, I still believe in this work. Not because it's trendy, but because it’s powerful. And because I know what it’s like to feel lost—and to find yourself again through deep, honest, supported inner work.

Coaching is not just what I do—it’s who I am. And I only offer what I’ve walked through myself.

If you're in a season of change, questioning, or reinvention, know this: you're not alone. And you don’t have to figure it out on your own.

I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
