Even Sweet Berries Have Sour Days: A Pinkicing Mindset Reset

Published on 12 August 2025 at 12:58

Some days you’re the sundae. Other days you’re the spoon. We all have moments when our mindset feels mushy, soggy, or a little tart. That doesn’t mean you’re failing; it means you’re human! In Pinkicing world, we don’t shame the wobble, we sweeten it.

Today’s mini mission: a gentle, Strawberry Shortcake–inspired reset you can do anytime, anywhere. Think simple ingredients, quick mix, and instant “ahh.”

The Truth: You’re Allowed a Sour Day

Real talk: positivity isn’t about pretending everything is perfect. It’s the art of finding one kind, doable step in front of you. The win isn’t “never struggle”; the win is noticing when you are and choosing the next soft thing.

Permission slip, signed by me: You can be a work in progress and still be a whole snack. 🍓

The 3-Minute “Berry Reset” Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 deep breath in, longer breath out

  • 3 tiny gratitude's

  • 1 sweet self-talk line

Directions (3 minutes, tops)

  1. Breathe: In through your nose for 4, out through your mouth for 6. Do this three times.

  2. Name 3: Something you see, something you did (no matter how small), and someone who cares.

  3. Sweet Talk: Pick one:

    • “Even the sweetest berries have sour days. I’m still good.”

    • “One soft step counts.”

    • “I can be kind to me and still keep going.”

Reframe Recipes (Swap the Thought, Keep the Truth)

  • All-or-nothing → “Some-for-now”
“If I can’t do it all, then why even try?” → “Five minutes moves the needle.”

  • Mind-reading → Curious check-in
“They must think I’m behind.” → “I don’t know yet; I’ll ask and clarify.”

  • Catastrophizing → Next 10%
“This ruins everything.” → “What’s the next 10% I can influence?”

  • Comparing → Collecting evidence
“She’s ahead of me.” → “Different lanes, same road. What’s one thing I did right today?”

  • Harsh inner critic → Brave coach
“Get it together.” → “Hey love, pause, sip water, and try one small thing.”

Micro-Rituals You Can Do Between Tasks

  • Sip + Sit: Drink water, plant both feet, lengthen your spine, exhale.

  • Doorway reset: Every time you enter a new room, whisper a cue word: Gentle.

  • 60-second tidy: Clear one small surface. Momentum over perfection.

  • Outside blink: Look out a window and spot three colors.

  • Kindness ping: Send one encouraging text (yes, to yourself counts).

Journal Sprinkles (2–5 minutes)

  • Where did I show up for myself today, even quietly?

  • If my inner voice wore an apron and loved me, what would she say right now?

  • What’s one tiny promise I can keep to myself before bed?

Pinkicing Affirmations (save these!)

  • I’m allowed to start small and still be proud.

  • I’m building a life that fits me, not a timeline that traps me.

  • Rest is productive for my nervous system.

  • My worth isn’t measured by my to-do list.

  • One kind thought can change the flavor of my day.

  • I can hold both progress and patience.

  • I release perfection; I choose presence.

  • I am safe to grow at my own pace.

If Today Is Extra Crunchy…

Try the “One Soft Step” rule: Choose one step that takes under five minutes and requires zero bravery. Fill a water bottle, open the window, reply to one message, put on comfy socks. Then stop. Notice how your body unclenches when you keep a promise that’s tiny and true.

A Note from Pinkicing

Mindset work isn’t about sugarcoating life; it’s about learning your inner recipe, and which thoughts nourish you, which routines settle your system, and which supports help you bloom. When your day tastes a little sour, sprinkle in gentleness and remember that you’re not behind, you’re becoming!

Take It With You (Copy-paste for your phone)

Berry Reset: Breathe 4/6 x3 → Name 3 → “One soft step counts.”

Step 1: Breathe 4/6 ×3 (≈30 seconds)
Inhale through your nose for 4 counts, exhale through your mouth for 6 counts. Repeat three times.
Tips: Drop your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and make the exhale slightly longer (like fogging a mirror).

Step 2: Name 3 (≈30–45 seconds)
Say or think:

  • SEE: one thing you can see right now.

and if all else fails, steep some lemon tea and have a yummy slice of strawberry shortcake! 🍓

Cheers,

Coach Jo <3
